The Times They Are A Changing…

West Coat Green Highway Project- DC Fast Charging Site at the Sehome Mall, Exit 252, Belingham, WAYep! It’s what you think it is: a giant DC super Fast-Charger for electric cars! And better, yet, installed by the Great State of Washington, where we have formed the West Coast Green Highway Project in cadence with Oregon and California.

The goal of the project is to make 440-volt DC Fast-Charge stations publically available to freeway-capable electric vehicles such as the Alread-In-Existence Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, Tesla Roadster and Mitsubishi iEV and the *upcoming* Chevy Coda, Ford All-Electric Focus, Tesla Model S and MANY more!

Yes, folks, the time has come- electric cars are no longer a pipe-dream, but a reality and so are PUBLIC charging stations.

I will be doing more posts on this… as you know, I already own an electric vehicle, a Canadian-made ZENN neighborhood electric vehicle, that is ,alas, only street-legal, not highway legal, and charges off a standard household 110 volt plug. So I will not be personally using these big juicers in the near future…

…and but for the far future, ( which is the present for all the owners of the above mentioned cars!)… OH, YEAH!!!

Hey Deb,
Last weekend I got my first view of the identical Super Fast DC Charging station in Skykomish (up the Steven Pass Highway)… I can’t wait to be able to affor to buy my first all electric car: A Toyota Rav4 EV (With Tesla Drive Train!)… to have 130 to 150 mile range!

Hi Deb, Thanks for your enthusiasm for the West Coast Electric Highway! When you get a chance, check out the DC fast chargers at night–the top green cover lights up like a beacon with a swirl of lights while an electric vehicle is charging. A string of stations are opening soon. I’ll add you to our announcement list. Keep up the great work going green!
