Who killed the electric car? Not me! Detroit may have tried, but though you may kill the evidence, you can’t kill a good idea.

Enter in ZENN Motor Company in Saint Jerome, Quebec.

Me & My Zenn !:-)

ZENN , which stands for “Zero Emissions, No Noise” makes small, neighborhood electric vehicles that not only warm your heart, but challenge your thinking.

Most Americans drive an average of 20-40 miles a day tops, and 80% are single-occupant vehicles. What a waste! Face it folks, you *don’t * need to be hauling around three extra seats worth of empty on an internal combustion engine for your local, neighborhood driving.

The ZENN car is the perfect commuter car. Using a standard 100-volt outlet, the car charges from empty overnight, and has a rnge of 30-50 miles. Costwise, it runs about 1.5 cents a mile. That means if your round trip commute is 20 miles, you’ve spent 30 cents.

Look Ma, No Gas!

ZENN cars are cute, efficent, fun and practical.

How do I know?

I own one!

Hey deb, this is a crazy question, but do you have a garage for your electric car? I am really wanting one and so far aside from the picking which one, and figuring the finances, the thing that keeps us from moving forward is the idea that its probably a bad idea to charge your electric car out in the open (this being seattle and all). BUT I see the pictures you have posted and it looks like yours lives in an outside driveway…

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Hey Seatown Girl:

Sorry to be SOOOO slow in answering- I have been lax about monitoring my own BLOG for the past two months. Anyway. no, I have no garage and have not had any problems. I leave an extension chord plugged in at all times in my driveway- and hang the end that plugs into the car under the side porch so if I am *gone*, the chord isn’t getting rained on. Otherwise, I figure that the car is designed to be out in all weather, and as the plug-in place is well sealed, I’m fine.
